A Message from Our Principal

Dear Families,

This year’s theme, Make Your Mark, is inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. My hope for our students is that they will be brave, will try new things, will embrace uniqueness, and will add to the positivity in our community. CLICK HERE to listen to the story with your children or visit the Jericho library to borrow a copy of the book to read together.

In addition to district goals and initiatives, JRRS is focused on the following goals this year:

  • To nurture a stronger sense of belonging and connectedness among students, staff, and families through Responsive Classroom practices, like Morning Meeting, and beyond.
  • To cultivate a culture of digital wellness that prioritizes the intentional use of technology and reduces non-academic screen time to promote deeper learning, foster stronger in-person social connections, and support the overall mental and physical well-being of our students.
  • To utilize interdisciplinary learning practices to support students in developing meaningful connections across subject areas; to foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities; and, to nourish a deeper, more applicable understanding of the world.
  • To strategically integrate artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance personalized learning, increase administrative efficiency, and equip students with the digital-literacy skills necessary for an AI-driven future.
  • To incorporate a variety of strategies for increasing student engagement, leading to student mastery of content articulated by daily learning targets and established success criteria.

We are grateful for the support of the Jericho community and look forward to the continued partnerships that will encourage students to Make Your Mark this year and beyond.

Sincerely,

Joanna Kletter
